Meet the 2019 Dream Team!

Have you met the whole team? If you have stayed with us during the 2018 season, chances are that you will have met Helen. Helen joined us in April 2018 and we are delighted that she will be returning for the 2019 season! Fergus & Amanda will be seen around the Park, which just leaves me! I am the full-time face in Reception and the face behind our blog and socials (you’ll have to read on if you want to know who I am!).

Let’s start with Fergus & Amanda; our owners, who have a very hands-on approach and can often be seen in Reception and the bar:

Fergus

Fergus took over ownership of Cakes & Ale in 2004 from his father, Peter Little

He studied Natural Sciences at Gonville & Caius College in Cambridge and certainly has the mathematic skills of a scientist!

When he isn’t at the Park, Fergus is quite often mountain biking, learning Italian and spending time with his sons, Nathan & Josh

For 10 years, Fergus was a professional chef. Alongside his wife Amanda, they ran a number of pubs, bars and restaurants across the county

Fergus was born in Woodbridge and has moved a full 6 miles to a smaller village… he is Suffolk through & through!

Amanda

Amanda joined Fergus in ownership and management of Cakes & Ale in 2004

Organising events is something Amanda excels at with such attention to detail and organisation

She has spent a number of years as a sailing instructor in Greece and has managed bars & pubs for over 10 years

Amanda looks after stock levels in the shop and bar and can occasionally be found in Reception.

Most of Amanda’s time is spent looking after her 3 boys, with Fergus being the most trouble!

It’s Abbie & Helen who are the most likely to be in Reception and who cover 7 days a week during the main season:

Abbie

Abbie is Assistant Operations Manager and can be found in Reception 5 days a week

On-site full time during the main season, Abbie is always around to assist in emergencies

When not in the office, Abbie can be found walking her 3 dogs, in her garden and spending time with family

The face behind our blog and social media with a history of social media marketing, Abbie loves to keep you updated on day to day life at the Park.

Have you visited any of our socials?  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

Abbie is just as happy in a tractor or making up beds in our rental lodges as she is behind a desk and will muck in when needed to ensure the Park is kept to the highest standards

Helen

Helen loves photography, her favourite season to take pictures is Autumn

Her love of poetry has enabled Helen to write and have published 5 poems in poetry books

Joining Cakes & Ale in April 2018, Helen has settled in incredibly well and has fast become a highly valued member of the team. Or ‘she’s part of the furniture’ as some of our customers like to put it!

When she’s not at the park, Helen is most likely to be baking or singing, or both! She hopes one day to own her own business, making the tastiest and prettiest cakes in East Anglia (we may be biased but they are delicious!)

Helen once spent a year living in Australia but missed her home county too much and after 12 months she returned to Suffolk… and why wouldn’t she prefer life in Suffolk to life in Australia!

So now you’ve been introduced to the team in Reception, we hope you’ll pop in and say hi when you’re next at the Park!

We look forward to seeing you next season!

Abbie x
